التقى السيد الرئيس أحمد الشرع الأحد 29 حزيران، المبعوث الخاص للأمم المتحدة إلى سوريا غير بيدرسون في دمشق.
وجاء ذلك في بيان نشرته وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين على قناتها في تلغرام، ذلك بحضور وزير الخارجية والمغتربين حسن الشيباني.
وقال بيدرسون في وقت سابق عقب لقائه بالسيد الرئيس “التقيت بالرئيس الشرع في دمشق بتاريخ الثامن من كانون الأول، وتحدثنا لثلاث ساعات ونصف الساعة حول المرحلة الانتقالية، وخرجنا بتفاهمات ستُترجم عملياً في المرحلة المقبلة”.
وشدّد المبعوث الأممي على أن التعاون بين الأمم المتحدة وسوريا بدأ “بشكل موفّق للغاية”، مؤكداً أن نجاح العملية السياسية في سوريا “ليس خياراً بل ضرورة”، ولا يمكن القبول بالفشل بعد كل هذه التضحيات.
وأوضح أن الأمم المتحدة ستواصل تقديم الدعم الإنساني وتسهيل هذا التحوّل.
