وكانَ في وِداعِ البابا في مطارِ أتاتورك وزيرُ الثقافةِ والسياحةِ التركيُّ محمدُ نوري أرصوي، ووالي إسطنبول داودُ غلّ، إلى جانبِ مسؤولينَ آخَرينَ.
يُذكَرُ أنّ البابا وصلَ إلى تركيا الخميسَ الماضي، في أولِ زيارةٍ خارجيةٍ رسميةٍ له منذُ تولّيهِ الحبريةَ في مايو الماضي، والتقى خلالَها الرئيسَ التركيَّ رجبَ طيبَ أردوغان، قبلَ أنْ ينتقلَ إلى إسطنبولَ.
