مسؤول أمريكي: الهجوم في تدمر كان مفاجئاً وواشنطن تسعى لعلاقات واسعة مع سوريا

قال المتحدث السابق باسم التحالف الدولي، الكولونيل مايلز كاكينز، إن الهجوم الذي استهدف الدورية المشتركة السورية – الأمريكية في تدمر كان مفاجئاً.

وأضاف كاكينز في تصريحات للإخبارية السورية الرسمية الأحد الرابع عشر من كانون الأول  أن واشنطن تسعى إلى إقامة علاقات أمنية واسعة المدى مع سوريا، مؤكداً أن الرئيس أحمد الشرع مصر على بناء علاقات جيدة مع الولايات المتحدة.

وأشار إلى أن لدى الولايات المتحدة مهمة مستمرة لدعم القوات الأمنية في محاربة تنظيم داعش الإرهابي داخل سوريا، وذلك بالتعاون مع الحكومة السورية، مشدداً في الوقت نفسه على ضرورة دمج قوات قسد الإرهابية مع وزارة الدفاع.

ولفت كاكينز إلى أن المواقع الأمريكية تتعرض لهجمات متكررة، وأن الميليشيات الإيرانية تحاول توتير مناطق وجود القوات الأمريكية، مؤكداً أن تعزيز الاقتصاد والازدهار يشكلان جزءاً أساسياً من محاربة الإرهاب وترسيخ الاستقرار.
