للمرة الأولى تلتئم القمة العربية (العادية 33) في العاصمة البحرينية المنامة، الخميس؛ لبحث ملفات تتصدرها الحرب الإسرائيلية المتواصلة على قطاع غزة منذ ثمانية شهور.
وإجمالا، سيناقش قادة الدول العربية 23 بندا تخص قضايا وأزمات المنطقة ومقترحات العمل العربي، لا سيما في السودان ولبنان وسوريا وليبيا واليمن.
ومنذ بدء القمم العربية العادية والطارئة في القاهرة عام 1946، تستضيف المنامة للمرة الأولى اجتماع مجلس جامعة على مستوى القمة (القادة) في دورته العادية الـ33.
وعُقدت القمة العربية العادية الـ32 بمدينة جدة السعودية قبل عام من الآن.
