أكد المبعوث الأمريكي السابق إلى سوريا جيمس جيفري الأربعاء 2 تموز، أن إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب تُسرّع خطواتها لرفع العقوبات المفروضة على سوريا.
وأوضح جيفري، في مقابلة مع قناة “العربية الحدث”، أن ترامب وقّع أمراً تنفيذياً يُنهي برنامج العقوبات على سوريا، بما في ذلك إلغاء “حالة الطوارئ الوطنية” المعلنة منذ عام 2004، إلى جانب إلغاء خمسة أوامر تنفيذية شكّلت الأساس القانوني للعقوبات، التي طالت مؤسسات حيوية أبرزها البنك المركزي السوري.
