عقد وزير الخارجية والمغتربين أسعد الشيباني، ووزير الخارجية الفرنسي جان نويل بارو، والمبعوث الأمريكي الخاص إلى سوريا توماس باراك، اجتماعًا في باريس الجمعة 25 تموز.
وانتهى الاجتماع الثلاثي ببيان مشترك يؤكد على الانخراط السريع في الجهود الجوهرية لإنجاح مسار الانتقال في سوريا، بما يضمن وحدة البلاد واستقرارها وسيادتها على كامل أراضيها.
ودعا البيان إلى الالتزام بالتعاون المشترك لمكافحة الإرهاب بجميع أشكاله، ودعم قدرات الدولة السورية ومؤسساتها للتصدى للتحديات الأمنية.
وأكد على دعم الحكومة السورية في مسار الانتقال السياسي الذي تقوده، بما يهدف إلى تحقيق المصالحة الوطنية وتعزيز التماسك المجتمعي لا سيما في شمال شرق سوريا ومحافظة السويداء.
ودعا البيان إلى عقد جولة من المشاورات بين الحكومة السورية وقوات سوريا الديمقراطية في باريس بأقرب وقت ممكن، لاستكمال تنفيذ اتفاق العاشر من آذار بشكل كامل.
وشدد على دعم الجهود الرامية إلى محاسبة مرتكبي أعمال العنف، والترحيب بمخرجات التقارير الشفافة بما في ذلك التقرير الأخير للجنة الوطنية المستقلة المكلفة بالكشف والتحقيق في الأحداث التي شهدها الساحل السوري.
وختم البيان بالتأكيد على عدم تشكيل دول الجوار أي تهديد لاستقرار سوريا، وفي المقابل تأكيد التزام سوريا بعدم تشكيلها تهديدا لأمن جيرانها حفاظاً على استقرار المنطقة بأسرها.
