أكد رئيس الجمهورية العربية السورية أحمد الشرع أن مهمة بناء سوريا هي مسؤولية جماعية، وعلى جميع السوريين أن يساهموا في بناء بلدهم الجديد.
وأوضح الشرع خلال اطلاعه على سير عملية انتخابات مجلس الشعب في مركز المكتبة الوطنية بدمشق، أن هذه الانتخابات تمثل محطة مهمة لترسيخ المشاركة الوطنية في البلاد، وأن سوريا استطاعت خلال الأشهر السبعة الأخيرة أن تنجز هذا العمل الجبار وتدخل في عملية انتخابية تعكس التشارك بين السوريين في هذه المرحلة الحساسة.
وبيّن الشرع أن القوانين والموازنات ما زالت بحاجة إلى تصويت ومناقشة في المجلس الجديد، مشيراً إلى أن انتخاب ممثلي الشعب خطوة أساسية في ملء الفراغ التشريعي ودفع عجلة القوانين إلى الأمام.
وتمنى الشرع أن يكون المجلس الجديد فاتحة خير على سوريا، مؤكداً ثقته بقدرة السوريين على الإبداع كما أثبتوا عبر تاريخهم.
