ألقى فرع مكافحة الإرهاب، بالتعاون مع مديرية الأمن في مدينة اللاذقية، القبض على العقيد الفار محمد نديم الشب، أحد أبرز المطلوبين في قضايا الإرهاب، بعد عملية رصد ومتابعة ميدانية دقيقة استمرت عدة أشهر.
وقالت وزارة الداخلية في بيان لها، الإثنين العشرين من تشرين الأول، إن العقيد الشب يُعد الذراع اليمنى للمجرم محمد جابر، قائد ميليشيا “صقور الصحراء” خلال فترة حكم النظام البائد، والمسؤول عن ما كان يُعرف بالعمليات الميدانية ضد مواقع تابعة للأمن الداخلي ووزارة الدفاع في المحافظة.
وأوضحت الوزارة أن التحقيقات الأولية أظهرت تورط العقيد في استهداف نقاط أمنية وعسكرية ومواقع حيوية خلال أحداث السادس من آذار الماضي، إضافةً إلى ضلوعه في تشكيل مجموعات مسلحة وارتكاب جرائم قتل داخل المحافظة، بهدف تنفيذ أعمال عدائية ضد الدولة ومؤسساتها.
