استقبل رئيس الهيئة العامة للمنافذ والجمارك قتيبة بدوي وفداً عراقياً رفيع المستوى برئاسة مستشار رئيس الوزراء العراقي سامي عبد الحسين، ورئيس هيئة المنافذ الحدودية عمر عدنان حرين، وعدد من المسؤولين رفيعي المستوى في الجمارك والمنافذ الحدودية.
وحسب ما أوردته الهيئة العامة للمنافذ والجمارك على معرفاتها في منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، الإثنين 15 كانون الأول، فقد جرى خلال اللقاء بحث واقع المنافذ الحدودية بين البلدين وسبل تعزيز التعاون المشترك في هذا المجال.
كما تمت مناقشة آليات تسريع افتتاح منفذ التنف – الوليد الحدودي، إضافةً إلى استعراض الأعمال التي ستقوم بها الهيئة العامة للمنافذ والجمارك لبناء منفذ جديد في منطقة البوكمال بديلاً عن المنفذ الحالي.
وركّز اللقاء كذلك على وضع آليات لتسهيل عبور المسافرين والبضائع، وتعزيز التبادل التجاري بين البلدين، بما ينعكس إيجاباً على حركة النقل والتجارة ويخدم المصالح الاقتصادية المشتركة.
وأكد الجانبان خلال اللقاء أهمية العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين، وضرورة استمرار التنسيق والتعاون في مجال المنافذ الحدودية والجمارك، بما يسهم في رفع كفاءة العمل الحدودي وتعزيز الاستقرار والتنمية في المناطق الحدودية.
وأعلنت الهيئة العامة للمنافذ البرية والبحرية افتتاح معبر البوكمال الحدودي مع العراق أمام حركة عبور المسافرين والشاحنات في 14 حزيران الماضي، بعد إغلاق دام سنوات.
