أكد مدير جهاز الاستخبارات الخارجية البريطانية “إم 16” ريتشارد مور، الجمعة، أهمية دور تركيا في النظام الدولي.
وأوضح خلال كلمة ألقاها في القنصلية العامة البريطانية بإسطنبول، أنه قدم إلى تركيا طالبا لتعلم اللغة التركية، ثم شغل منصب السفير لبلاده في أنقرة بين عامي 2014 و2018.
وأشار إلى أن رغبته في التحدث في إسطنبول اليوم ليست لأسباب عاطفية فحسب، مضيفا: “تركيا كما كانت على مر القرون، دولة محورية ومهمة في النظام الدولي اليوم”.
ولفت مور إلى أن تركيا حليف في حلف شمال الأطلسي “ناتو”، وتدعم بقوة سيادة أوكرانيا واستقلالها من خلال التزامها بالقانون الدولي وميثاق الأمم المتحدة.
وتطرق إلى التطورات في الشرق الأوسط بعد 7 أكتوبر/ تشرين الأول 2023، مؤكدا أن الأمن والازدهار الدائمين للإسرائيليين والفلسطينيين يمكن تحقيقهما من خلال حل الدولتين.
وقال المسؤول البريطاني: “غزة بحاجة إلى السلام أيضا”، مشددا على ضرورة إعادة الإعمار في المنطقة ومنع مزيد من المعاناة للفلسطينيين.
